grand avenue in los olivos could not be more charming. a quick two hour drive from los angeles takes you miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city to a quaint and quiet street filled with plenty to see, do, and sip! grand ave is lined with wine tasting cottages and surrounded by sprawling vineyards. the perfect day on this walking street goes something like this...

start the morning off right with coffee and a bite to eat on the wraparound porch at the corner house coffee shop. next, i like to visit a few stores before the streets get crowded with wine enthusiasts. los olivos general store has unique finds for the home and wendy foster sells simple but beautiful clothing. after shopping it is time for wine tasting. our favorite wine tasting cottage on grand ave is the carhartt tasting room. the wine is delicious and the people couldn't be friendlier! next, pick up sandwiches and salads from panino and bring them over to the coquelicot tasting room. i like to purchase a bottle of wine to enjoy with lunch outside in the tasting room's backyard. i could spend the rest of the afternoon here sitting in the sun and playing bocce ball on coquelicot's outdoor court. if you are looking for another good tasting room, alta maria has a crisp rosé and knowledgable wine educators. the best part about this little street is that as soon as you leave you have an expansive view of never ending vineyards. we are so looking forward to our next visit this fall!
