headed to healdsburg
natalie had a chance recently to go to one of my favorite, not too
far, destinations. sounds like a fantastic getaway and always
looking for insider tips for the latest and greatest, i’ll be using natalie's
trip as my guide!

my favorite getaway from the hustle and bustle of san francisco is the wine country, specifically healdsburg in sonoma valley. healdsburg's little secret is that it is beautiful all year round. not only is it stunning in the summertime, but also when the vineyards turn golden and the air crisp. i was lucky enough to spend time there this winter with my family and close friends. healdsburg boasts an endless list of must-see wineries, boutiques and cafes, along with activities such as vineyard bike rides and live music. the town square encloses a beautiful park that hosts concerts on tuesday evenings in the summer. bring your own picnic and it will be a night to remember!
on the weekend, healdsburg farmers market is plentiful with fresh peaches, figs, flowers, and breads.
my favorite new addition to the healdsburg square is the shed: a local, food-focused market that hosts cooking classes, events, and serves delicious food in the cafe.
up the road in alexandra valley there are two places you'll want to make sure to spend some time. medlock ames tasting room is an 100% organic and solar-powered farm and estate fine wine producer. on warm summer nights you will find food trucks and live music until the sun sets. just .2 miles down ca 128 is the jimtown store, a quaint country store with a deli that sells homemade food, old-fashioned candy, and antiques. make sure to try the olive tapenade...my favorite!
there is so much more to see in healdsburg, make sure to allow a couple of days to explore. cheers!
xo, natalie.
