kai rose, exclusively

last week i did something that was at equal times terrifying and exciting. i made my first personal appearance. this admitted barneys fan found me in the beverly hills location in a little pop-up featuring our latest offering, kai rose. tables of kai adorned with fresh white roses and gardenias filled barneys' stunning yet intimate apothecary foundation floor. with passed prosecco to add some sparkle to the celebration, i spent the afternoon mingling with kai devotees old and new who came to get a first glimpse at our new addition.

being a long time barneys devotee, i was honored when they took in the original kai back in 2003!!! we showed our thanks with the promise of a one month exclusive of the next scent. little did they know, least of all me, was that it would take oh so many years. but as promised, the latest addition to our little family made her debut right where she belonged.

an elegant though almost quirky take on delicate rose blooms. and given that kai rose has bits and pieces of the original scent with rose absolute blended into a small roll on, the new kai rose has a little of both. let’s put it this way, it’s not what you expected. they are meant to be layered, blended.  i’ve heard numerous women who blend now and again so i decided i’d give it a shot at a single note blended with original kai notes. it works: put on one, switch it up and add the other. it all works together. a soft scent with a twist of bright, gorgeous green. just a bit, please.
