how did you first discover kai? please share a memory of your first-time using kai, which product it was, and anything special you noticed during your experience

i came across kai through a collaboration with my swimwear brand and another business a couple of years ago. the first product i tried was the signature kai body glow and i immediately was drawn to the dreamy, sunkissed fragrance and intense hydration. the body glow still sits proudly in my bathroom and is my go to after long days in the socal sun.

how do you embody kai’s “breath*life*flow” lifestyle?

i’ve always been an advocate of prioritizing a healthy work/life balance and believe that you are your best self in business, your personal and family life when you pour into your own cup. for me, that’s through investing in daily self care in between looking after my two young children and running my business. i make time to workout every single day, focus on eating intuitively and try to carve out some time every day to unplug completely from the outside world.

how did you start your career? and how did you end up with your current role?

i actually worked in real estate for a really long time in both england and the us before starting mooroo swim. i led sales teams, ran my own businesses and have always felt the most comfortable and confident when working for myself rather than in a corporate setting. i’m a true sagittarius that loves her freedom. i took a break from real estate back in 2020 after becoming pregnant with my second daughter and it led me down a path of creativity and exploration for passions i had previously never had the time to pursue. the idea to start a sustainable matching swimwear brand came very organically as a need for both myself personally and a gap in the market i felt existed in the swimwear world.

there are so many incredible swim brands out in the world, but when it came to finding swimwear that offered the ability for moms to match with their minis, there was always *something* that wasn’t quite perfect. a lot of options i found were made overseas and were of very low quality, the fit of the swimsuits wasn’t flattering and the style options were very limited.

i decided to start designing my own suits and the entrepreneur in me quickly evolved my doodles into a brand that embodies the romantic essence of life, motherhood and sunny moments. one that focuses on creating something whimsical, beautiful, confidence inducing and most importantly - sustainable. all of our swimwear at mooroo swim is made from a luxury recycled fabric that is derived from recycled fishing nets and every suit is manufactured right here in la.

what’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

to never dilute your dreams & to never expect someone else to deliver them to you.

i’m a dreamer by nature, but i’ve always believed in putting plans in place to attempt to achieve those ambitions myself and it’s something i will always advocate to my children in the future.

do you have a mantra you live by?

surround yourself only with people that build you up, not tear you down.

go-to lipstick color?

charlotte tilbury mrs. kisses paired with a pillowtalk lip liner and good lip oil.

how would you describe your personal style?

i’m a lover of all things girly, whimsical & flirty. give me all the ruffles, bows & puff sleeves. ive always been quite classic & timeless in my style choices and i’m a lover of good quality pieces over fad trends in fashion, beauty and the home.

what do you love most about where you live? any secret spots you love to go to?

what’s not to love about orange county? my husband and i moved over here from england 6 years ago because we fell in love with the lifestyle, the weather & the beaches. one of our favorite spots to go to as a family is treasure island beach in laguna. we grab sushi to go from starfish laguna and head down to the beach at sunset to sit on the sand, eat and let the kids run free.

favorite food?

i tend to eat plant based 90% of the time but the dover sole with crispy spinach from nobu has my heart.

kai obsession?

the body glow is still a firm favorite along with the kai signature perfume oil. i love having a mini fragrance i can take with me when i’m on the go, especially when out at the beach, on shoots or traveling.

morning person or night owl?

morning person!

ideal way to relax/unwind?

the basic mom starter pack: a bubble bath, candles, my favorite drink and 15 mins to myself.
