LA native catalina su is the celebrity makeup artist behind some of our favorite faces on E! news. we owe it to her for introducing kai to some of our beloved devotees, like catt sadler. in this month's kai conversation, we got to know the woman behind the makeup brush to talk style and beauty from a true pro. her sense of humor partnered with her sense of style makes for a great read. enjoy!

how do you embody kai's breath*life*flow lifestyle?
i wake up every day happy. that sets my standards and my flow for life. it's what i created for myself and i really appreciate love and kindness because i practice it.

what's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
trust yourself.

do you have a mantra you live by?
sleep when you're dead.

what's your beauty secret? 

exercising, great skin care, great body care and occasional doctor visits.

must have beauty products?
SK-II facial treatment essence, murad intensive-c radiance peel, kate somerville dermalquench liquid lift, kai body butter and kai body glow.

go-to lipstick color?
tom ford "scandola" moisturecore lip color.

what color nail polish are you wearing right now?
white, always.

how would you describe your personal style?
i love my personal style. sexy, together and rad. i love fur, leather and plunging necklines. black, grey, white, nude, repeat. my bags, shoes and jewelry are always expensive. i believe in the entire package, 95% of the time i have perfume on.

who is your role model?
the people closest to me all have traits that i admire, deeply.

what do you love most about where you live?
i love la, born and raised. i don't think i could ever leave it.

describe your perfect day.
make breakfast for my children. gym or hot yoga. work on my beloved blog. happy in love. inspired by myself. dinner and wine with loved ones.

favorite date spot?
sushi, preferably in a new city :))

ultimate getaway?
italy, i've never been but i am told i will LOVE it! i really can't wait!!

favorite food?
sadly, i can't think of anything i don't like. i love korean food, hamburgers, chili cheese fries, chicken wings, pizza, salad, kale, fruit, mexican, italian... please don't get me started. i do it all, healthy and regimented monday-thursday. friday-sunday, forget about it.

guilty pleasure?
hung over eating. done in private.

morning person or night owl?
strangely, i'm kinda both and i like it.

currently craving?
a turkey sandwich with soft bread, mayo, sprouts, avocado and bacon.

ideal way to relax/unwind?
a bath with bubbles, kai bathing bubbles. wine and cheese.

what book are you reading currently?
outliers.

what's the most adventurous thing you've done?
this is a tough one... i'm pretty crazy every day but let me shoot off a couple... flew halfway around the world, in a middle seat (obviously coach), for love. jumped off a really large boat, naked.

kai obsession?
i have been using kai for a very long time. back in the days when i shopped at kitson. now that was wayyyyyy long ago. i love the body lotion, body butter, body glow, i use one of the three daily. i am huge on scents and kai is the only scent that meshes with all of my perfumes. it has a beautiful, calm humming scent, that i need to smell every day. along the way, i have become obsessed with kai shampoo and kai conditioner. i have dry hair and sometimes a dry scalp and the shampoo is so good to my scalp. love it and need it :))

i know that i am "guest blogging" for kai but i really need to share how perfect this product line is. quality products are the obvious, every single item has been perfected. the colors, the packaging, the way the products physically look and feel when the item is your hand. thorough from inside out. i know kai is made from a place of passion that involves pride and love.
